Sony Malaysia has announced two new additions to its series of Walkman music players: the NW-ZX707 and NW-A306; let’s take a look at them.
Featuring a large screen, longer battery life, as well as support for Wi-Fi connectivity, the new NW-ZX707 uses refined capacitors with large capacity and low resistor, as well as an OFC milled block and large 8mm voice coil for a balanced output to deliver improved sonic resolution across all frequencies.
In addition, it is equipped with a DSD remastering engine that resamples PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) audio to 11.2 MHz DSD (Direct Stream Digital), providing additional options and support for a wide variety of audio files in less common formats.
Moving on to the NW-A306, it features a premium milled aluminum frame that has excellent rigidity for low impedance and clear, stable sound and solid bass, as well as a 3.6-inch touchscreen and tactile physical music controls, while weighing only 198g.
Additionally, the NW-ZX707 and NW-A306 adopt S-Master HX digital amplifier technology which is developed to be compatible with the native DSD format, which reduces distortion and noise over a wide frequency range.
In terms of battery life, the NW-ZX707 offers approximately 25 and 23 hours of playback for 44.1 kHz FLAC and 96 kHz FLAC high-resolution audio, or 22 hours for full online streaming, while the NW-A306 provides 36, 32, and 26 hours respectively.
Price and availability
The Sony Walkman NW-ZX707 and NW-A306 will be available in the Malaysian market from this month at a price of RM3,699 And RM1,599 respectively.
