Rumors of a new entry in the Uncharted franchise began to accelerate, with SIE San Diego Studio continuing to recruit staff for its new mystery project and in doing so, onboarded former talent from Naughty Dog.
New unexplored game from SIE San Diego?
The company’s latest hire is Zak Oliver, who served as an environmental artist for Naughty Dog. He is now being recruited as San Diego’s Senior Environmental Artist for the unannounced title.
Additionally, related job postings require applicants to have a “penchant” for third-person action games, which definitely fits Uncharted’s bill. Additionally, the Visual Arts Services Group is working in “collaboration” with a “large Sony development studio,” which might suggest that Naughty Dog is somehow involved.
While a new Uncharted has yet to be officially announced by Sony, it is highly unlikely that the format owner will want to withdraw it anytime soon. Either way, you can be sure that it will be exclusive to PS5.
