A judge has locked up R Kelly indefinitely but a new album appeared on his streaming pages this morning. Following a jury’s decision to convict him of federal sex crimes, an album titled, I Admit it appeared on his streaming pages. The project does not contain features 13 songs in total without features.
Although many thought it was an official release from R Kelly’s back catalog, a Sony Music representative said it was a bootleg. In a statement to Variety, a rep for Kelly said it was an unofficial album.
Sony currently owns the rights to Kelly’s catalog. While the copyright line says the project was dropped under Sony Music’s Legacy Records division, the rep said that I admit it is not an official version.
The album contains tracks like “Freaky Sensation” and “The Last Man Standing”. Some of the songs from the album have appeared online in recent years. Many songs appeared online before the fake album appeared. In the case of some of the recordings, they also seem to come out of his vault.
The project ends with “I Admit It”, a three-part record dissecting the allegations made against him. “I Admit It” dropped on Soundcloud in 2018 as a 19-minute effort, but this is the first time it has become available on DSPs.
Kelly originally dropped the song in 2018 on Soundcloud. However, it appears online as a three-part recording that concludes I admit it. This is the first time the song has been available on streaming services like Apple and Spotify.
The song responds directly to allegations made against R. Kelly over the years. He admits he’s ‘done fucking with a few fans’, adding that people’s outrage stems from the fact that he has ‘girlfriends’. Additionally, he sparks rumors that he has kidnapped women by singing, “They’ve been brainwashed, really? Kidnapped, really? Can’t eat, really? Real talk, that shit sounds silly.
R. Kelly is currently behind bars after being convicted of federal sex crimes. In September, a jury found him guilty of six out of thirteen counts in his Chicago child pornography case. The court found R. Kelly guilty of three counts of child pornography and three counts of soliciting sex with minors. These charges are linked to his infamous acquittal in 2008.
