The woman, who worked directly with Mr Glover, said she witnessed inappropriate behavior between him and a junior staff member that others at Sony were also aware of.
“In 2012, at the ARIA after party at the upstairs casino, I was leaving and I went to say goodbye to Tony… there was a group of people standing around him and on his knees were was finding (a junior staff member), he had his arm wrapped around her and he was rubbing her ass and kissing her neck, ”she said. “They were very clearly crossing the line in a very inappropriate way with a lot of people watching them.”
Mr. Glover denies ever behaving inappropriately with a young colleague.
“We were close and I remember her telling me that I reminded her of her father and that I was a guiding figure to her,” he said. “I’ve always seen it as a great relationship, but certainly not at all romantic.”
The former staff member said she had expressed concerns about the inappropriate behavior with her colleagues, but her concerns were dismissed.
“I remember trying to talk to a more experienced colleague and she said, ‘This is the culture here, you will get used to it,’” she said.
“I told a few other friends over there, other junior staff, it was so normal that I was being looked at strangely for raising questions about it.”
The Sun-Herald and Age spoke to several former and current Sony Music employees who said they witnessed inappropriate behavior between Mr. Glover and the junior employee in the office and at Sony events.
Another woman, who asked to remain anonymous for the same reasons, worked at Sony Music for three years and said she was sexually harassed by Mr Glover on two occasions.
“The first time it happened we were at a formal work event and he was complimenting me, complimenting me with my work ethic and he was getting closer and closer. I could smell the alcohol on her breath, ”she said.
“He put his hand on my lower back and he was getting lower and lower until he was on my ass. I made a really awkward gesture to go to the bathroom and sat there for a while and then left the event completely.
“At a staff Christmas party, he did it again. It was never an obvious ass grip, it was always a touch in the back that ultimately became your ass.
Mr. Glover denies ever touching staff inappropriately, despite the investigation including multiple instances of harassment that turned out to be true.
“There is me and there are the complainants and I guess the number of complainants has exceeded my word,” he said.
“I had never been sanctioned before, (the investigation) was a total surprise. I think I am a decent person, a loyal person.
Staff were briefed on Mr Glover’s dismissal by Sony Australia vice president, Australian marketing artist Wayne Ringrow, during a late afternoon teleconference.
