Sony Music Publishing opens a new office in Lagos, Nigeria. Creative exec Godwin Tom will lead as managing director.
As the leader of Sony Music Publishing’s Nigerian division, Godwin will enhance the company’s global reach and support its growing list of songwriters and composers in the region.

Godwin Tom will report to Sony Music Publishing International President Guy Henderson. “It is a real pleasure to be able to announce the appointment of Godwin Tom as Managing Director of our start-up in Nigeria,” adds Henderson.

With over twenty years of experience, Godwin Tom has in-depth knowledge of the African music industry and has built relationships with key stakeholders in Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Zimbabwe and South Africa. Most recently, Godwin was CEO of talent management company iManage Africa, where he worked alongside top talent including Wizkid, Davido, Waje, MI, Wande Coal, Ice Prince, Bez, Show Dem Camp, Beverly Naya, Yung6ix, Jessy Jagz, Rooftop MCs, Solid Star, Ayo Jay, Ikon and many more.
Over the past few years, Godwin has also supported the development of future industry leaders through the Music Business Academy for Africa, an online learning platform dedicated to training the next generation of music professionals. and entertainment.
