Sony India will be PTI’s exclusive digital imaging solutions provider for its press photographers and videographers across the country, a joint statement said.

Sony India will also provide technical assistance and training to PTI’s photo and video journalists, he added.

Commenting on the development, Sony India Managing Director Sunil Nayyar said, “PTI is a highly trusted source of news in the country, and it is such an honor for us to partner with them, support PTI who provide photos and video for news around the world”.

PTI Managing Director Vijay Joshi said: “At PTI we believe that technology is one of the fundamental pillars of producing good journalism. We recognize that Sony has always been at the forefront creating innovative camera technology, so partnering with Sony was a no-brainer for us, especially as we move into video journalism.”

Collectively, PTI publishes over 2,000 articles and 200 photographs daily and cooperates with over 500 Indian newspapers.

The news agency has a distinguished history of powerful visual journalism and its reporters will now use Sony’s advanced imaging solutions to document major events across the country.

“Once the transition is complete, all journalists at PTI will be equipped with the latest Sony cameras and lenses. This will allow all journalists at the news agency to collaborate seamlessly and tell the stories that matter, regardless either support,” the statement added. .
