SiPearl partners with Samsung Electronics for Rhea-integrated HBM – New Electronics

The collaboration aims to provide the best performance and power efficiency for HPC and AI workloads and will utilize Samsung’s High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) for its speed and power efficiency as well as reduced thermal resistance and will enable SiPearl to take advantage of Rhea’s abilities. Best-in-class performance and power efficiency for HPC and AI inference workloads.

“We are excited to contribute to the expansion of SiPearl’s unique supercomputer/AI ecosystem with Samsung’s advanced HBM technology,” said Yongcheol Bae, Executive Vice President and Head of Memory Product Planning at Samsung Electronics. “As the HPC and AI market grows and diverse requirements increase, high-performance, high-bandwidth and low-power solutions are essential to support the development of the Rhea series in the future. We are committed to providing memory solutions capable of bringing superior performance and efficiency to future HPC and AI applications, in close collaboration with SiPearl.

“SiPearl is poised to become a European pioneer in the use of HBM technology in collaboration with Samsung Electronics,” said Philippe Notton, CEO and founder of SiPearl.

He said the combination of the company’s high-performance, low-power microprocessor technologies with the integrated HBM would be key to meeting all the requirements of supercomputing and AI inference workloads.

“In the rapidly growing AI inference market, we believe our product will be a market-leading solution for Large Language Model (LLM) inference tasks, providing, among other things, great flexibility to model changes from the solutions currently in use,” concluded Notton.

SiPearl works closely with its 30 partners in the European Processor Initiative (EPI) consortium, who are its stakeholders, future customers and end users.

SiPearl today employs more than 190 people in France (Maisons-Laffitte, Grenoble, Massy, Sophia Antipolis), Germany (Duisburg), Italy (Bologna) and Spain (Barcelona).
