DENVER (KKTV) – 11 Journalist Spencer Wilson was forced to take cover after what looked like gunfire erupted just after an event the organizers announced as a peaceful rally for George Floyd.
The rally was held Thursday evening at the Colorado State Capitol building. Dozens of people showed up holding up signs and chanting songs, calling for justice for the deaths of Floyd and others. Floyd died on Memorial Day in Minneapolis after an officer knelt on his neck until he stopped responding. Four officers were dismissed. Click here to learn more about the story.

It is not clear whether the shots were linked to someone who attended the rally. Details of possible injuries were not available the last time this article was updated at 6:20 p.m.
Police were on the scene at W. Colfax Avenue and 15th W. Street. As of 6:30 pm, they reported “the motive is unknown”.
This article will be updated as it is a developing story. Wilson said he could hear police shouting and ask if someone was injured, and he doesn’t believe anyone was hit.
