Shannon Studstill tempted away from Sony by Google stadiums – Pure PlayStation

Shannon Studstill led the team behind God Of War. But the Sony Santa Monica employee has now left the ship to compete with the hardware, Google. Her new role will see her take charge of a new studio, dedicated to projects related to Stadia. But will it cost the PlayStation Guardian more than just a staff member?

The Stadia promises, after all, to revolutionize the game. And any assets lost by either party – especially those who end up the other – will undoubtedly prove to be an obstacle in their path.

Jade Raymond welcomed the news of Studstill’s appointment, praising her on the official blog. But his comments are probably echoed by the majority of industry personnel, due to his proven track record over the years. She says:

“She has extensive experience in product development and creative leadership, but most of all, she is a visionary who, as a studio manager, will lead and inspire the teams at Playa Vista.

“We are delighted to welcome him to the Stadia family.”

Speaking of which, this new Stadia studio – and the “console” for that matter – sounds as if it is going in quite exciting directions. It is thanks to their desire to incorporate a range of new mechanics and game methods in their future games. On this basis, it is therefore not surprising that we announce this news. In fact, with all the buzz that accompanies such a new start-up, I am surprised that we are not announcing more.

Raymond added:

“The creative possibilities are limitless. But we cannot build these experiences without a talented team of game designers, artists and storytellers. “

Now there is nothing better than letting creativity run wild, especially in today’s world. And with Google deep pockets unrivaled influence ambition of youth, the Stadia is certainly where it is. It’s just a shame that so far it hasn’t met consumers’ expectations. Could it really be executed by Google before it can work? And if so, will we see familiar names reverting to more traditional consoles?

Probably. But if anyone can succeed, it’s someone like Studstill.
