Shahs of Sunset star Mike Shouhed reaches settlement with prosecutors in domestic violence case

Shahs of Sunset star Mike Shouhed reaches an agreement with prosecutors in a domestic violence case… months after he was arrested for a physical altercation with his fiancée Paulina Ben-Cohen

  • Shouhed, 43, was arrested in March for getting into a physical altercation with a woman, who would later be his fiancée Paulina Ben-Cohen
  • He has reached an agreement with prosecutors that will drop domestic violence, assault and battery and unlawful attempts to deter a witness.
  • The former reality star will have to enter a diversion program to close his case – meaning he wouldn’t have to plead guilty if he took the course
  • The program includes anger management classes, parenting classes and gun safety classes as well as community services
  • He is also prohibited from owning or possessing firearms during the two-year diversion program.
  • His Bravo series Shahs of Sunset was canceled in April 2022 – just weeks after Shouhed was arrested after nine seasons
  • Sources claimed the cancellation had nothing to do with the arrest, adding it was getting too expensive to do and was ‘running its course’

Shahs of Sunset star Mike Shouhed will avoid jail time for his domestic violence arrest by reaching a settlement with the prosecutor.

Shouhed, 43, was arrested in March after he had a physical confrontation with a woman, later identified as his fiancée Paulina Ben-Cohen.

Shouhed also faces various weapons charges, so another provision of the program is that he is prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm for the two-year duration of the program.

Shouhed’s attorney, George Mgdesyan, told TMZ that prosecutors chose not to pursue the case due to lack of evidence.

“In this case, the prosecutor did not bring this case because they saw the facts like me. If this case went to trial, the prosecution would not be able to prove it,” Mgdesyan said.

“All of my client’s guns were legal, in his locked room. No one was allowed in the master bedroom,” the attorney added.

The lawyer admitted: ‘It’s too bad there was a gun registered for my client before the laws changed, and it was a technical violation.’

“However, the city attorney’s office charged him with firearms. In light of the offer, he has not been convicted and will get a dismissal which is in his best interest as the domestic violence charges were dismissed,’ Mgdesyan added.

“If the domestic violence charges were not dismissed, we would proceed to trial. It was obvious,” he concluded.
