Several Poco X2 issues appear after Android 11 update: phone hanging, unresponsive touch, broken animations, user interface – PiunikaWeb

A few months after the release of the Android 11 developer preview, Poco revealed that it will start testing the new operating system on the Poco X2. This announcement was made in early July 2020.

At the time, “soon” was the term used for the release date, but we all know that soon can mean anything weeks to months when it comes to software development.

Well, it turned out that the latter case prevailed, with Poco X2 users having to wait months to release the update to Android 11. It happened late last week.

Poco X2 Android 11 Update

Within a week of rolling out, we come across a lot of disgruntled users across various platforms claiming that the update broke a thing or two compared to the previous version of MIUI 12.

Several Poco X2 users have expressed their displeasure to the developers for pushing a supposedly stable update that happens to be anything but stable.

One of the common problems during rounds is where the phone hangs randomly. This happens when using apps or even when navigating from one section to another.

There is also a lot of talk about poor touch response and broken animations since the update to Android 11. Most of the time, the screen feels slow and fails to register touch commands.

While there is nothing unusual for early versions of a major Android operating system update to flag some unwanted bugs, there is concern about the speed at which affected Poco X2 users are flooding the web. .

In addition, the number of problems being mentionned is simply alarming for what is considered a stable update. Besides the bugs mentioned above, we also have cases of poor RAM management and choppy videos on some apps.

There are also cases where users have reported problems with navigation gestures, screen freeze, broken file manager, buggy messaging app, and more, all after Android 11 update.

After getting the Android 11 update in my poco x2 I am facing the following bugs even after a factory reset.

1. Third party launchers like nova do not work with gesture navigation enabled

2. Animations are interrupted everywhere.
3. Stuttering and delay everywhere

4. Some applications like file manager, Chrome, YouTube, switch to 60Hz instead of 120Hz.

5. The texts of the pop-up notification are outside the rounded rectangular area.

6. The new control center is completely unusable with the smart devices turned on.

Given that affected Poco X2 users say they didn’t experience any of these issues until the Android 11 update, the obvious culprit seems to be the new OS. But no, it has nothing to do with Google.

In fact, it looks like Xiaomi has quietly noticed the many complaints around the web about the Poco X2 Android 11 bugs and update issues, likely stopping the rollout.

This is not confirmed, however, but according to a few reports it seems so. Apparently they got the OTA download notification, but the OS kind of disappeared before they could update.

Usually this happens when the firmware is still in limited deployment (which is always the case with the Poco X2) or when an update has been withdrawn. Hopefully, at least for those who haven’t installed the buggy update yet, the latter is true.

We will be on the lookout for any new developments regarding this buggy update and bring you the latest news as we go. In the meantime, keep an eye out for our Poco Android 11 update tracker.
