As you were on your way to cast your ballot for the 2022 midterm elections on Tuesday, November 8, you might also have spotted Selena Gomezclassic red manicure and purple face covering printed with bold white letters that spelled out “vote” on Instagram.
The Rare Beauty founder was one of those who expressed the importance of voting and immigration rights using a little something we call social media. (I would like to take this opportunity to resurface the beautiful shot Seduce got gomez for her Seduce cover story in October 2020, for which she wore a sparkly floral crown, red lipstick, low pigtail braids and a white halter tank top branded with the words “Vote or Die”.)
Manicurist Tom Bachik, Gomez’s go-to nail artist, was the artist behind his manicure. On election day, Backik was, as usual, quick with the follow-up and penned a pro-vote pun – “All (red) to vote” – in the caption of the photo of her flawless, sharp , red, squoval- shaped nails.
