Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift seem to have an unbreakable bond. The two first met in 2008 when they were both linked to Nick and Joe Jonas respectively, with Gomez calling their meeting “the best thing to do”. [they] out of those relationships.

Gomez went so far as to refer to Taylor Swift as her sister, and even to refer to Swift as her only industry friend. Selena has spoken about having a hard time fitting in with other female celebrities and how Taylor Swift made it easy for her.
Gomez said: “I never fit in with a cool group of girls who were celebrities. My only friend in the industry is really Taylor, so I remember I didn’t belong. I felt the presence of everyone around me living a full life. I had this job and I was happy, but… was I? Do these materialistic things make me happy? I didn’t like who I was because I didn’t know who I was.

Francia Raisa takes offense at ‘Friend of Industry’ statement
Selena Gomez was diagnosed with lupus and has been open to sharing her health journey with her fans. Gomez started suffering from complications due to her illness and in 2017 she had to undergo a kidney transplant because of these complications.
It was Gomez’s best friend, Francia Raisa, who stepped in to save her life and donate one of her kidneys. The couple were pictured together in their beds and hospital gowns. In the years that followed, Gomez sang his praises.
Gomez said she couldn’t describe how she could possibly thank Francia for her sacrifice, saying she was “incredibly blessed.” It’s because of this that Francia was shocked when Gomez called Taylor Swift her only industry friend on her Apple TV series.
Francia dropped Selena on IG soon after, and fans began to speculate that Gomez just meant the music industry and not Hollywood as a whole. Someone made a TikTok video about the situation, and Gomez simply commented, “Sorry, I didn’t mention everyone I know.”
Rumors began circulating that the two were no longer friends, and Gomez’s response upset many of his fans, pointing out that Francia had literally saved his life, which no other friend could do.
The two briefly had a suspected fall after the kidney donation, but quickly bounced back, with both making appearances on each other’s social media pages. The friendship status is currently unknown, but as of now, it looks like Selena has spoken her mind about the situation.
