Seekers singer Judith Durham dies aged 79 following battle with chronic lung disease as bandmates share moving tribute to their ‘lifelong friend’ and ‘magnificent legacy’ musical” that she left behind
Australian singer Judith Durham of folk band The Seekers has died aged 79.
The famous singer died Friday night after a long battle with chronic lung disease, reports the Herald Sun.
She had been in hospice care at Alfred Hospital before her death from complications of the disease.

Folk-pop legends The Seekers are pictured in 1964. The band are best known for hits like I’ll Never Find Another You and Georgy Girl.
Fellow Seekers bandmates Keith Potger, Bruce Woodley and Athol Guy called her a “lifelong friend” in a joint statement.
“Our lives are forever changed by losing our forever precious friend and our shining star,” they said.
“His fight was intense and heroic – never complaining about his fate and fully accepting its conclusion. His magnificent musical legacy Keith, Bruce and [Athol] are so blessed to share.
The Seekers were best known for their hits I’ll Never Find Another You and Georgy Girl.
