Tommy Fury and Jake Paul have apparently agreed to book their ill-fated fight after the Briton hijacked a video call between Amanda Serrano and her promoter.
Fury and Paul were slated to meet for the first time in December 2021. However, Tyson Fury’s little brother was forced out of the fight due to injury and was replaced by former UFC champion Tyron Woodley. .
The pair were then booked to fight again on August 6 of this year, however, Tommy was unable to enter the United States for their pre-fight press conference and it became unclear whether he would be able to fix the problem in time for the fight.
Therefore, Jake replaced him with Hasim Rahman Jr. but that fight also fell through and the former Disney actor decided to cancel his card which was to take place at Madison Square Garden.
Paul is now set to face MMA icon Anderson Silva in an eight-round, 187-pound bout in Phoenix, Arizona on October 29 in what many believe will be the toughest fight of his career to date.
Despite that, he already has his eye on what’s next and has spoken about a potential fight with UFC legend Nate Diaz and is now trying to make a fight with Fury happen again.
Amanda Serrano, who is promoted by Paul, was in action defending her featherweight titles against Sarah Mahfoud in Manchester on Saturday night.
The Love Island star was also at the AO Arena to watch teammate Joseph Parker take on Joyce Joyce in the main event of the night.
Fury visited Serrano and Paul’s manager, Nakisa Bidarian, in their locker room and was able to convince them to call “The Problem Child” on the phone in an effort to get their fight going again.
“Tommy, let’s make the fight happen buddy. Let’s make it happen,” Paul said.
Fury replied, “I’ll see you soon.”
Fury hasn’t fought since taking his perfect boxing record to 8-0 in his brother’s win over Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium in April.
The 23-year-old has recently been linked with a fight on Floyd Mayweather’s upcoming fight card in Dubai against Paul’s former opponent Woodley.
