Even people who know Beyonce but don’t the singer’s die-hard fans know that the only person she’s had a long stint with is Jay-Z. However, that’s not stopping the tabloids from cooking up relationship rumours.
Since her rise to fame, she has reportedly been romantically involved with many people including Sean-Paulwho collaborated with her on “Baby Boy”.
While no one knows how true that was since neither party had spoken about it, fans can finally take comfort as Paul recently came out to address the matter. Read on for more details on Paul’s take on the matter, including details on the dating rumor, how the story started, and how it played out with Jay-Z.
Never hooked up with Beyoncé
In an interview with daily beast, Paul addressed the speculation, shutting down claims that he and the “Al The Single Ladies” crooner once had a romantic relationship. He called her a beautiful woman, adding that nothing had ever happened between them other than “a beautiful song”.
Even though they performed the song “only three times”, the seductive nature of the lyrics made fans think they were dating.
Despite their professional relationship, the romance rumors got worse and at one point almost destroyed their relationship. Things, however, came to a head after Beyoncé confronted him about the rumors.
“She was pissed off and said, ‘I need to talk to you,'” he said. “So we come back and talk, and she’s like ‘What are all these rumors? and I’m like ‘Yo, I’m not talking bullshit’, and she’s like ‘These rumors fk with my career. I want you to know that.'”
She also added that the rumors were destroying her relationship with Jay-Z. Paul replied: “So listen: I met Jay before you, and we were friends, so he and I should talk. If he feels anything about it, then we should talk because it’s not from me.
As the “Get Busy” artist tried to assure Beyoncé that the rumors weren’t coming from him, she eventually had to cut back on her communication with him.
“It’s weird,” he added, “maybe it had something to do with his management at the time.”
He doesn’t regret collaborating with Beyoncé
While the relationship eventually soured, Paul admitted he has no regrets collaborating with Beyoncé. After all, they made a “striking song” together.
He also added that “Baby Boy” was one of his best collaborations, after Busta Rhymes and Rihanna.

“It was a big, fat, sexy song,” he said. “While we only got to perform three times together, we managed to create a sexy video, a sexy song, and a lot of sexy gossip.”
“Baby Boy” spent nine weeks on the Billboard charts, propelling Paul to greater fame. It also came with a scorching video with over 100 million views on YouTube.
Why didn’t Paul address the rumors sooner?

When asked why he hadn’t addressed the dating allegations sooner, the entertainer admitted that he wanted to take advantage of the free publicity provided by the rumor mill.
Paul said by MTV News, “I was silent about it for years because it was doing its job. There was just a lot of controversy.
“She’s an amazing artist. The song was number 1 for about nine weeks, so it was a very special moment for me and for dancehall.
Beyoncé contacted Paul after her success
By MOBO TV in 2014, Paul’s first interaction with Beyoncé was after she opened one of her shows earlier. Thereafter, she began to attend some of his concerts. After rising to fame with her 2002 hit, “Gimme The Light,” Beyoncé reached out to him about a collaboration, which would eventually become “Baby Boy.”
“She had a few hits with Destiny’s Child, and they would do the Caribbean, but we haven’t really dated. I’ve always admired her music and she’s beautiful. So when I heard Beyoncé was coming out of her own chef and wanted me to do a single, I was like, ‘Hell f-king yeah.’
