A goalless draw with Poland in their opener followed by a 2-0 loss to Argentina left Sorting with just one point from their two games so far.
Nothing less than a win for Gerardo Martino’s men tonight, but they must also hope Poland win against the South American champions.
If Poland and Argentina draw, Mexico can still qualify if they beat the Asian team by at least three goals, and four goals would be needed for Mexico if Argentina were to win tonight as well.
The North American side have won four of their last five matches against their opponents tonight, the last meeting being a 5-1 victory in the 1999 Confederations Cup.
