Social media has erupted over a controversial challenge on SAS Australia Hell Week.

On the first episode of Monday’s military-style reality show, there were bloody and brutal scenes as the rookies pitted against each other in the boxing ring.

Many on social media found the challenge “hard to watch” as youth worker Bec Mitchell, 33, volunteered to fight surfer Mitch Fuller, 22.

“Beck certainly held on, but the man was difficult to watch,” tweeted one viewer.

“It’s always hard to watch them fight against each other,” agreed a second.

Meanwhile, a third commented, “Oh man… when they fight man against woman… [sigh face emoji]. ‘

‘Hard to watch’: Many fans on social media said the challenge was ‘hard to watch’

The fight saw Mitch rocking wildly with Bec sending numerous punches to the head and body before she gave up and fell to the ground.

Their fellow competitors looked distressed as they looked aside.

Following the success of the celebrity version of the military-style challenge show, Ant Middleton and his Management Team (DS) are back for another special season – but this time, with “everyday Aussies” at bar.

Monday night’s episode saw an array of rookies push their limits in a series of grueling challenges.

The series began with contestants falling backwards from a platform into the water before being stripped and asked to dress in uniform.
