Samyang, also known as Rokinon, has announced a new full-frame AF 135mm F1.8 lens for Sony E-mount cameras.
The new 135mm F1.8 full-frame AF is also compatible with APS-C cameras and is an AF version of Samyang’s MF 135mm F2.0 ED UMC, with additional new features.
The Samyang AF 135mm F1.8 offers an ultra-wide aperture for smooth background blur, while its ultra-sharp aspherical (UA) lens helps achieve natural bokeh effects.
The Samyang AF 135mm F1.8 consists of 13 elements divided into 11 groups, including the UA lens, two HR elements and three ED elements. The biggest addition to the new Samyang lens is its AF capability, which uses Samyang’s linear stepping motor for quieter and more precise focusing.
Other features include a focus hold button, custom switch and focus range limiter. The minimum focusing distance of the Samyang AF 135mm F1.8 is just 69cm and offers a maximum magnification of 0.243x for close-up photography.
With the new AF 135mm F1.8 FE, Samyan’s Auto Focus F1.8 FE series now includes 24mm, 35mm, 45mm, 75mm and 135mm focal length options.
Pricing information for the Samyang AF 135mm F1.8 was not available at the time of writing.
