Samsung has been enjoying releasing its monthly security patches for certain devices for some time before the month in question has even started. It’s not always the same handsets or even the same series, so it all seems pretty random, but almost every month there’s at least one phone or family to bless with next month’s security updates… today.
And yes, today is one of those days. Even though it’s still January and February is just a few days away, the Korean company couldn’t wait any longer and rolled out its February update for the Galaxy Note20 and Note20 Ultra. For now, it only seems to be rolling out in the Netherlands, but it will undoubtedly hit other European countries very soon.
The new version is identified as N98xxXXU3EVA9, where “xx” differs depending on your specific model of either phone. Unfortunately, there is no changelog available at the moment.
As usual, if you haven’t received the update notification yet (and you received your phone from the Netherlands), you can go to settings and enter the software update menu to try to force a manual check.
