One of Plano’s main employers in the technology sector is considering expansion.
Last year, Samsung consolidated its operations in North Texas with more than 1,000 employees on the Legacy Central commercial campus on the American Highway 75 in Plano.
The company initially leased more than 200,000 square feet as part of the relocation of workers housed in Richardson and other locations in the Dallas area.
Samsung has now filed plans with the state of Texas to take up another large office block in the Legacy Central buildings.
The new workspace will total more than 75,000 square feet and will be ready in September, according to the documents.
Gensler is the architect of the project.
Officials for Legacy Central developer Regent Properties said they could neither confirm nor deny the information recorded on the Samsung project.
And Samsung representatives would not respond to requests for information about the project, which is expected to start in May.
In 2016, Regent Properties purchased the former Texas Instruments 84-acre campus in the United States 75 and Legacy Drive in Plano.
The developer spent more than $ 100 million to transform the old TI campus into a mixed-use project with new offices, conference rooms, additional parking and apartments.
