The Samsung Galaxy Xcover Pro is a robust Android smartphone, does that mean that it should also be easy to repair? If you think the answer should be “yes”, check out the teardown video below.
The good news is that the phone has a removable back cover, which allows you to access the battery. A rubber gasket covers it to ensure the phone meets IP68 water resistance requirements, but the battery can be replaced without any tools.
You will need a heat gun and a pry tool to remove the screen, which is then held in place with standard Phillips head screws.
The Galaxy Xcover Pro shows that it’s still possible to design a simple phone, but it certainly helps that the phone is 10mm thick and has only two cameras on the back.
