The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is a new addition to Samsung’s line of tablets. As the name suggests, this is a cheaper version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6. The Galaxy Tab S6 is very expensive but has an AMOLED screen, four creative speakers and a powerful processor, while the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has a TFT screen, two speakers and a powerful processor. a slightly weaker processor.
Creativity comes easy with the $349.99 Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. This is the best way to get a tablet with an active pen at a relatively low price. The S Pen included in the S6 Lite is $80 less than the base iPad Pencil, making this tablet a good choice for taking notes or drawing on a budget. However, the basic iPad is still our Editors’ Choice because there’s a lot more creative software available for this platform. The world of Android tablets is a bit strange.
There is a wide range of media tablets under $200, such as Amazon Fire and Walmart’s Onn tablets, but the market is so dominated by the various iPads that inexpensive Android tablets have relatively little access. However, Samsung continues to push with its midrange Tab A line, the high-end Tab S6, and now the 64GB S6 Lite, which rivals the base 32GB ($329) iPad model.
Design
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is very similar to the Galaxy Tab S6 on the front, but with a slightly smaller 10.4-inch screen. It has thick bezels, which is acceptable for a tablet of this size. At 7mm thick, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is thinner than some smartphones we’ve tested recently. The tablet weighs 467 g, a weight that is felt when used for a long time with one hand. However, we found it comfortable for two-handed use. Samsung has opted for a metallic finish which gives the device a premium feel. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite comes in three colors: Angora Blue, Oxford Gray and Chiffon Pink, of which we have the latest.
The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has a 3.5mm headphone jack on the top, as well as an additional top microphone and speaker. The power button on the right can also be used to activate Bixby. The SIM tray is slightly lower and can accommodate a Nano-SIM and microSD card. On the lower right half of the tablet are magnets for attaching the included S Pen. This version of the S Pen does not have Bluetooth like the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6.
Display
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has a 10.4-inch 2000 x 1200 LCD display. It’s only 0.1 inches smaller than the non-Lite tablet, but the lack of an AMOLED panel from higher resolution is one of the casualties of this inexpensive tablet. The screen quality is quite good for an LCD: it’s nice and bright and easy to see even outdoors, but the colors sometimes seem a little washed out compared to screens on other devices, and even when you play games or watch videos. movies were at times noticeably low-res.
That said, depending on the streaming services you’re watching content on or your subscription plan, this permission may be all you need and only those with access to 4K content may find the tablet not up to snuff. Additionally, the 5:3 aspect ratio is just a step up from the 16:9 that many TV shows and movies are streamed with. This means you won’t notice a black bar across the top and bottom of the screen when viewing content, as is the case with iPads, which tend to have 4:3 screens.
Price
However, the area where the Tab S6 Lite has an edge over its sibling is price. At just $349 or $399 for the 4G LTE model, the Tab S6 Lite is almost half the price of the regular Tab S6, which costs $619 or $689, depending on the model you choose. As we’ve already mentioned, the Tab S6 Lite is priced the same as Apple’s entry-level 10.2-inch iPad.
It’s a little disappointing – Samsung should outperform Apple in this scenario – but the Tab S6 Lite comes with twice the base storage (64GB) for the same price, which can also be upgraded with a microSD and an S Pen stylus included. There are hardly any alternatives to Android. The best we’ve found is the Huawei Mate Pad Pro, although it doesn’t come with full Android and costs 150 euros more. If you prefer a Windows tablet, the new Surface Go 2 starts at $399.
Stylus
We have to give credit to Samsung. While we wish the Tab S6 Lite had an iPad price of $329, the Free Edition of the S-Pen makes the $349 price more than acceptable. This S-Pen is also more comfortable to hold and type, thanks to the flattened side to improve grip and the way the tip flexes slightly when you press hard on the screen.
Additionally, the S-Pen provides an excellent writing experience. When we drew with the Samsung Notes app, we noticed incredibly fast input recognition with almost no lag, on par with the Apple Pencil. Additionally, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite’s S-Pen attaches to the side of the tablet rather than being inserted into its ports.
Performance
Let’s start with the screen and the stereo speakers. The panel used by Samsung for the Galaxy S6 Lite is not bad, but we expected better. It has good viewing angles, but it’s not very bright. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find a way to adjust the color profile. Audio output is good and you get stereo sound when watching content in landscape mode. Dolby Atmos is also present which makes a noticeable difference when activated. The S Pen doesn’t have Bluetooth, so it can’t be used as a remote shutter release for the camera like you can with the Galaxy Tab S6.
However, you can tap the button and tap the screen on the S Pen when the tablet is idle to take quick notes. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite wakes up quickly and you can start typing right away. We found the palm rejection to be excellent and you can rest your palm on the big screen while writing with the S Pen. The Notes app has a handwriting recognition feature that lets you convert what you’ve scribbled into text.
Battery life
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is powered by a 7,040mAh battery, which is pretty standard for a tablet of this size – the iPad 10.2 is slightly larger, but barely. We were impressed with the device’s battery life, which easily lasted through a day of normal use. Even when it came to more demanding activities, such as long video calls, we never worried about the impact on battery life. Unlike a smartphone, and as is the case with most tablets, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is not a device that needs to be charged every day to continue functioning, unless you really need it. push to its last limits.
The Tab S6 Lite supports 15W fast charging, which would be too slow even for a smartphone, but since the portable power bank is twice the size of most phones, powering up the device can take a long time. It’s not a device that can be plugged in just for a quick burst of power here and there, and we found it more natural to charge the device while it’s in use rather than plugging it in somewhere and charging it. forget while it works.
audio
What a pleasant surprise. Dual speakers on the top and bottom of the Galaxy Tab S6 deliver balanced, clear sound. Brandon Flower’s unmistakable voice filled my large living room without the slightest trace of distortion. There was a bit of tension in the treble when we listened at maximum volume, but that didn’t stop me from listening to this pop-rock anthem. You’ll be happy with the sound quality of the S6 Lite if you don’t expect heavy bass.
Last words
We hope you understood and enjoyed this Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite blog review. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is another Android tablet from Samsung and doesn’t have many competitors these days. It’s well-built and offers solid battery life. The S Pen stylus is a great addition, thankfully included in the box. We hope you will share this blog with your family and friends.
