The Samsung Galaxy S22 lineup is likely almost here, with rumors suggesting the phones will be unveiled in February. But even without those rumours, it would be clear that they’re coming soon, as nearly every detail on the phones has now been leaked, including what colors they’re likely to come in.
From what we’ve heard so far, it looks like the Samsung Galaxy S22 and Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus may arrive in the same four colors as each other, while the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will land in a selection of slightly different shades (but still four). That said, one source indicates a greater variation in the shades available.
None of this is confirmed yet, and we haven’t even seen unofficial images of all the colors, so the exact shade of some of them is still unclear, but you’ll find everything which we’ve seen and heard so far below, and will add to this article as soon as we know more.
Samsung Galaxy S22/S22 Plus Colors
The Samsung Galaxy S22 and Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus could come in the same color selection as each other if the leaks are to be believed, which would be a change from the Samsung Galaxy S21 lineup, where the colors available for each of these phones differed.
Multiple sources have claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus will come in a white hue, possibly called Phantom White, and we’ve even seen a leaked photo of both handsets in that hue – along with the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, which would also be available in white.
You can see this image above. Note that the camera blocks on the S22 and S22 Plus are silver here, so there’s a bit of contrast there. The Galaxy S22 Plus also appears to have a slight greenish tint to it, but that’s probably just due to the lighting.
Both phones also appear to have a glossy finish, although not all sources agree that the finished handsets will – so they could be matte instead.
The same selection of sources also indicates that black (possibly called Phantom Black) is one of the shades offered by the Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus, and we’ve seen a leaked image of those phones (along with the Galaxy S22 Ultra ) in this shade too.
Again, it’s a glossy finish, and the camera block is also black, although more of a matte black. It’s a smart shade that’s sure to prove popular.
Rose gold / rose gold
We’ve also heard from a similar selection of sources that the two cheaper phones will come in a rose gold or rose gold hue, but there’s some disagreement as to which of those it will be.
For what it’s worth though, LetsGoDigital is the most recent source to respond to this, and they claimed it was rose gold, and even created the image above to show what it might look like. This is quite a delicate and elegant finish that is sure to find an audience.
Many of the sources above also suggested that we would see the Galaxy S22 and Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus in green, and one source even shared images of the standard Samsung Galaxy S22 in that hue.
If those images are correct, it’s a pretty dark matte green and one of the most unusual shades you could buy these phones in. It is also one of the few shades to which there was not something similar in the Samsung Galaxy S21 lineup.
Blue, beige, gray and purple
We don’t spend as much time and space on these four colors because so far only one source has reported them, and we don’t have any imagery.
According to GalaxyClub, the Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus will be available in blue, beige and gray tones, as well as those mentioned above, with the Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus also coming in a purple color.
However, he notes that some of the shades might only land in certain regions or might be exclusive to Samsung’s store. Given that only one source mentioned them, we’d say all of these shades are less likely than the ones above.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Colors
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is rumored to come in three of the same colors as the rest of the lineup (although the exact shades may differ), plus one different and potentially exciting color.
Like the rest of the lineup, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is rumored to land in black, and you can see what that might look like in an image later in this article.
If it’s the shade shown there, it’ll be a matte black and maybe slightly pale, verging on gray – although some of that could be the lighting. Either way, it’s a classic and elegant shade, so it’s no surprise that it’s likely to be on offer.
White is another super common smartphone hue, and it looks like it will be very common in the Samsung Galaxy S22 lineup as well, as all three models are widely rumored to land in this color.
As for black, you can see what it might look like on the Galaxy S22 Ultra later in this article – it’s a fairly standard matte white. Pretty much exactly what you’d probably expect, and sure to sell well.
Dark red / burgundy
Now we come to a more interesting color, as multiple sources have said the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will come in a dark red hue, with a more recent leak suggesting it could be a burgundy.
This latest source also shared images of how this shade looks, as you can see above. It may be slightly paler and closer to brown than you would expect from a burgundy shade, but it is definitely red and dark.
Finally, we come to green, which is another hue that would be included for all three Galaxy S22 models.
We’ve seen renders of this from both 91Mobiles and LetsGoDigital, as you can see above, and in both cases it appears to be a dark, matte shade. Together with the red, this could be an interesting color choice, but probably won’t sell as well as the black or white models.
