The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE was launched last year in India with the Exynos 990 chipset. However, Samsung has also released a 5G variant of the phone, which is equipped with a faster and more efficient Snapdragon 865 chipset. The South Korean giant then only launched the Exynos 990 variant in India, but recently also brought the 5G version with the Snapdragon 865 processor. Now a tipster has declared that Samsung may stop production of the Galaxy S20 FE Exynos variant and replace it with a model with the Snapdragon 865+ SoC.
The Galaxy S20 FE will launch the Snapdragon 865+ version and Exynos990 stops production.

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE Snapdragon 865+ variant
Early reviews of the Galaxy S20 FE revealed that the 5G variant with Snapdragon 865 was a much better device than the model that used the Exynos 990 SoC. Not only was it faster, but it also offers better battery life, and and so on. It was only recently that Samsung introduced the best Snapdragon 865 variant of the Galaxy S20 FE in India. The phone is sold in India at the introductory price of Rs 47,999.
Stopping production of the Exynos 990 variant is probably a good idea then. At least, that’s what tipster Ice Universe recently tweeted, claiming that Samsung will replace the Exynos 990 model with a new variant using the Snapdragon 865+ processor. If this happens, Samsung can only launch this variant in certain regions, as India already has a Galaxy S20 FE 5G equipped in the same way.
As always, you have to take this report with a pinch of salt, as Samsung hasn’t given us any production information regarding the Galaxy S20 FE or a new S20 FE with Snapdragon 865+ chipset. However, a leaked Samsung roadmap for 2021 revealed an unwrapped event on the Galaxy S21 FE. It is possible that the company will also launch the new S20 FE variant at this event.
