Samsung appears to be preparing to launch a new variant of the Galaxy A02 smartphone in the US market, called the Verizon Galaxy A02 edition. Yes! You read it right, the smartphone was recently launched in the US and European markets. MySmartPrice spotted the Verizon edition of the Galaxy A02 on the FCC listing, revealing the design of the smartphone and the South Korean tech giant’s intentions to launch the phone in the U.S. market soon. Galaxy A02s Verizon FCC List
The Galaxy A02s Verizon is listed on the FCC list with the model number SM-A025V and FCC ID: ZCASMA025V. The listing suggests that the smartphone will arrive with Wi-Fi calling support and come pre-installed with Google Duo. The smartphone runs on Android OS and does not support any OTT service. In addition, the FCC listing also suggests that the Galaxy A02 will be released in the US market as a Verizon edition. It comes with GSM, WCDMA and LTE support.
The listing also suggests that the smartphone will have a typical battery capacity of 5,000mAh and a nominal capacity of 4,800mAh. EP-TA200 is the charger model on the FCC list, which suggests that the handset supports 15W charging.
The FCC listing also featured a patent photo of the future smartphone that suggests the Verizon edition of the Galaxy A02s will feature a rectangular-shaped camera module placed in the upper left corner of the back panel. We also noticed that the handset sports curved edges, a 3.5mm audio jack, a microUSB port, and a speaker grille. On top of that, the list didn’t reveal much about the smartphone.
Galaxy A02s Specifications
Thanks to the previous launch, we know everything about the Galaxy A02s. As at launch, the smartphone displays a 6.5-inch HD + Infinity-V display with a teardrop notch to accommodate the front camera setup. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the MediaTek MT6739W quad-core SoC, which has up to 3GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. Users can also expand storage up to 1TB via microSD card.
As for the cameras, the Galaxy A02s has a dual camera setup on the rear panel, including a 13-megapixel main camera sensor and a 2-megapixel macro sensor with an LED flash. The rear cameras are capable of offering up to 8x digital zoom and autofocus. Up front, it houses a 5-megapixel camera setup for selfies and video calls.
