Samsung Expert raw app now available for Galaxy S22, S20 Ultra and a few other flagships

Samsung has released an update to the Expert RAW app that adds support for Galaxy S20 Ultra, Note 20 Ultra, and Fold 2 devices.

For the Galaxy S22 series and a few other Galaxy devices, Samsung’s Expert RAW software has been available for quite some time. The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, S20 Ultra and Z Fold2 will now be compatible with Expert RAW thanks to a new update that the manufacturer is offering. Here are some details.

Samsung has released an update to the Expert RAW app that adds support for the Galaxy S20 Ultra, Note 20 Ultra, and Fold 2 devices, according to a community post (via GoAndroid). Samsung warns that due to their age and inability to match the processing power of current flagship handsets, smartphone quality and processing times will vary.

If you are unfamiliar with Samsung’s Expert RAW, some explanation may be in order. Experienced photographers can use this app to take photos with more dynamic range than the default camera app. Plus, it offers a wide variety of manual shooting settings. In addition, you can take photos in RAW format, which allows you to edit them later in programs like Adobe Lightroom.

The app will soon have additional features thanks to Samsung’s development. However, don’t expect them all to be compatible with older gadgets. The newer flagships are the only ones that have these features because they have the hardware to support them. According to reports, Samsung is testing the ability to change ISO, shutter speed, and settings in Hyperlapse video recording mode.

You can download the Expert RAW app from the Galaxy App Store if you have one of the aforementioned Samsung devices and want to try it out.
