Its investment in Pyeongtaek is expected to be formalized in the second half of this year. Basic work has already started in the second half of 2020, the installation of semiconductor manufacturing equipment is scheduled for next year, and mass production is expected to start in 2023. The length of production lines is estimated at 700 meters.
The total area of the facilities is estimated at 700,000 square meters, the largest in the world. A number of EUV lithography machines, priced at 170 billion won to 200 billion won each, will be used there, and investment in the facilities may reach 50 trillion won or less.
