According to media reports, Samsung Electronics has decided to temporarily close all of its retail stores in Brazil. The move aims to curb the spread of the new coronavirus pandemic. Samsung has said that all of its retail stores in Brazil will be closed until further notice. During this period, consumers can purchase the company’s products online. Yesterday, the company closed its operations at its manufacturing plant in Manaus, in the Amazon region of northern Brazil. This stop will be effective until Sunday.

Although Samsung chose to close the Manaus plant in northern Brazil, this decision did not affect its production operations in Campinas. In the city, the company’s working procedures are as usual, and only employees of management and R & D services must work from home. Samsung’s largest Latin American market is Brazil. The company has strong demand from consumers across the country for high-end and high-end smartphones, appliances and QLED TVs.

Samsung also closes stores and factories in other countries

Not only in Brazil, Samsung is closing some of its manufacturing plants around the world due to COVID-19. Samsung Electronics said on Monday that due to the epidemic, the company will temporarily close its factory in India. The Noida smartphone factory near New Delhi will suspend operations until March 25. In addition to its factory in India, the company also decided to temporarily close its television manufacturing plant in Slovakia this week.

Previously, South Korean companies such as Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics had to temporarily close factories in China due to the Chinese New Year holidays and the appearance of a new coronavirus. Likewise, these South Korean companies have extended the Spring Festival holiday due to the spread of a new coronavirus. However, operations are now normal in China.

Last week, Samsung closed all stores in the United States and Canada to minimize the spread of the new coronavirus. The company said it has put “the health and safety of employees, customers and partners” as its “top priority”.
