Samsung Ads Australia hires Samantha Cooke and Gideon Hornung – Mediaweek

Samsung Ads Australia, the advertising division of TV maker Samsung Electronics, has unveiled two new recruits.

Samantha Cooke joined the team as APAC Product Marketing Manager. Her previous roles include head of trade marketing at Domain Group, where she was responsible for acquisition, retention and revenue growth, and head of digital advertising and brand partnerships at Foxtel.

Cooke is entering a newly created role at Samsung Ads Australia, where she will act as a link between the local sales, global product marketing and business development teams.

About her new role, she said, “It’s full steam ahead! I look forward to representing the voice of the customer and ensuring we have the right product marketplace for Samsung Ads products locally. It’s great to be back in the TV space, and this time from the manufacturer’s lens.

Gideon Hornung also joined the team as Head of Sales Strategy for Advertising Partnerships. In the newly created role, Hornung will be responsible for developing an understanding of customer challenges in order to build deeper partnerships with advertisers. His role will be to align partners, customers and internal teams around long-term challenges and goals, thereby facilitating more lasting business relationships.

Prior to joining Samsung Ads, Hornung was Head of Group Client Strategy at Seven West Media, responsible for integrated cross-platform content solutions and previously worked at multiple media agencies in a number of senior strategic positions.

“It has never been such an exciting time to work in television, as the CTV industry in Australia grows, it is clear that audience-driven data and insights will play an important role in helping advertisers to unlock new growth opportunities. I am excited to work alongside Samsung Ads customers to deliver solutions that meet their needs and facilitate long-term relationships.”

Cooke and Hornung will also represent Samsung Ads Australia at the IAB. Cooke will represent the company on the IAB’s Video Advertising Council and Hornung on the IAB’s Gaming Task Force.
