Samsung Electronics announced Thursday that its QLED 8K 2020 TV line has become the first TV in the world to meet the requirements of the new Wi-Fi 6 wireless standard.
The certificate was awarded by the Wi-Fi Alliance, a non-profit organization that promotes Wi-Fi technology and certifies Wi-Fi products, earlier this month.
Wi-Fi 6 is the new wireless standard with higher transmission speed while saving energy, resulting in smoother 8K streaming capabilities.
Samsung’s 2020 8K QLED TV is the only 8K TV in the world to support Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, allowing customers to enjoy a more seamless entertainment experience with smoother streaming and gaming, in addition to unrestricted Internet access.
“The company won the certificate as a precaution to remain competitive in the future premium television market. As an industry leader, we will continue our efforts to apply the latest technology to our product line to deliver more benefits to consumers, “said an official at Samsung Electronics.
