Actor Sam Neil and political reporter Laura Tingle appeared to quell rumors they had split up by attending the opening of famous Italian opera La Traviata on Friday night.
The couple looked extremely happy as they posed for several photos on the red carpet.
Jurassic Park star Sam, 73, smiled and laughed alongside ABC 7:30 am presenter Laura, 59, as they joined several other celebrities at the Sydney Opera House.

Sam looked dapper in a pointy black suit, while Laura wore a chic little black dress.
Their presence at the event comes just weeks after unconfirmed reports revealed the couple had separated.
According to a report from the Sydney Morning Herald’s Private Sydney, the couple had quietly separated after three years together.

They’ve managed to keep their romance relatively private over the years, but appeared together in public at the 2018 Parliament Mid-Winter Ball and the 2019 AACTA Awards in Sydney.
Their reported breakup comes after actor Kiwi praised Laura’s quarterly essay, The High Road: What Australia Can Learn from New Zealand, in an Instagram post last month.
He shared a photo from the post and gushed about his work, writing in the caption: ‘This is a MASTERPIECE, reads like a thriller. Must read. ‘

Flirty Twitter exchanges between Laura and Neill began in March 2017.
They met through friends at the end of 2017 and started dating publicly in January 2018, Daily Mail Australia reported at the time.
Neill tagged her in a post where he claimed he was not allowed to participate in Malcolm Turnbull’s victory party after the election.
“Maybe the Libs have a soft spot for beards,” he lamented, as he shared a photo of himself with fellow actors Hugo Weaving, Mel Gibson and Joel Edgerton.


Where it started: The flirty Twitter exchange between Laura and Neill began in March 2017. They met through friends in late 2017 and started dating publicly in January 2018, Daily Mail Australia reported at the time.

In 2018, a friend of the couple told The Australian the relationship was “ serious ” and the couple had met through mutual friends.
However, the Brisbane Times reported that the couple met after Neill regularly contacted the Insiders after seeing her on TV.
