Rylan Clark has revealed he confided in close friends and showbiz ‘in-laws’ Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes during his battle with depression – which saw him hospitalized and attempted suicide.
Describing the moment he saw the married couple as a ‘wake-up call’, the presenter admitted he had ‘never seen Eamonn so upset before’.
The TV star, 33, detailed his heartbreaking time in his new memoir Ten: The Decade That Changed My Future – which will be released at the end of the month.

In excerpts from the book obtained by The Sun, the presenter explained how he stayed with his mother, Linda, for three months – following a stay at a private healthcare facility.
Following this, he returned to the hospital for a week after suffering a bad spell, which led to Linda secretly contacting Ruth and Eamonn.
Calling them two of his closest friends in the industry, Rylan wrote: “I remember what their faces looked like when they saw me seeing how sick I was and then Eamonn got very upset .” I had never seen Eamonn get upset like that before, and it was like a wake-up call.

‘I remember thinking, ‘Do I look that sick? Am I that bad? It was just awful. They stayed with me all day.
The star previously admitted that Ruth and Eamonn were “frightened” for him and “shocked” by his fragile state.
In the book, he sadly revealed that he planned to kill himself during a stay in a mental hospital so that Linda wouldn’t find his body.

It was revealed earlier this week that the presenter felt he “couldn’t go on anymore” after his ex-husband Dan left him when Rylan told him he cheated during the relationship.
Rylan revealed he had been unfaithful to his now ex-partner ‘years ago’ but once he came clean, Dan told him their relationship was over and moved on after six years together .
Describing the time since the breakup, Rylan said in the recently posted excerpt that he had become “seriously ill” and was unable to eat, sleep and speak “and felt like to have “a stroke or worse”.
He explained how he ‘couldn’t bear’ to live in the house he had shared with Dan, so he moved in with his mother, where he would sit for days in the front room not speaking with the blinds closed.

The former Celebrity Big Brother housemate, who says he hasn’t stopped working since appearing on The X Factor in 2012, has admitted he “needs” a break.
He said: ‘It was hard but on reflection, yes, I needed to quit. It was maybe a 10-year merger. I haven’t stopped since the day I went on The X Factor.
‘Nothing has stopped. I don’t regret quitting. I think if I try to continue, maybe I could have handled things better from a personal point of view. I don’t regret quitting.
