Ryan Reynolds has confirmed that Taylor Swift will not be part of Dead Pool 3 but he was game for it to happen.

The Swift rumor came after Reynolds posted a video with Hugh Jackman announcing that Wolverine would be making an appearance in the third installment of the superhero movie. Swift has been known to drop nuggets that hint at future projects and the video where Reynolds and Jackman appeared was filmed at the same house as Swift. Too good: the short film was shot.

“If we’re shooting the next Deadpool movie in our house, this would be the place,” Reynolds told Entertainment Tonight of the fan theory.

While it’s not a hint that Swift is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Reynolds said he would love for her to appear in the next film, adding, “Are you kidding me? I’d do anything for this. woman. He’s a genius.

Swift has long been friends with Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively. In fact, Reynolds told Jess Cagle this week on her Sirius XM show that for most of their lives, the couple’s daughters were blissfully unaware that the woman they considered “just like an aunt” was a global superstar. .

“I think what’s most exciting for them is that for a very long time they just thought that Taylor was just like an aunt, like a friend of mom and dad who is very, very close, almost to the family,” he explained.

“And then they went to a concert one day and they were like, ‘Ohhhhh…'” Reynolds says.

In the same interview, Reynolds said he asked Jackman to be part of dead Pool “for six consecutive years.”

“It was ultimately Hugh who said, ‘I think I’m ready to come back,'” Reynolds added. “We just had to sell it to [producer] Kevin Feige, which didn’t take long, and next thing you know, here we are.

film for Dead Pool 3 hasn’t started yet but Shawn Levy is set to direct the sequel while Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are set to write the script. Some fans were skeptical that dead Pool would be Disney-fied but the writers assured that wasn’t happening.

“Don’t worry about it,” Reese said in an interview with Den of Geek. “They have been very supportive in that regard. Now, when it comes to a particular joke, if we cross a line, maybe we’ll hear at some point, “Maybe not that joke.” But I think they’ve been incredibly supportive of what we’re doing, because obviously we’ve been doing it separately for a long time, and I think they’ve seen success and they’ve had their own even bigger success . So I hope this will be a marriage made in heaven. But we definitely have their support, and that’s a good thing to feel.
