Awkward moments from the Russell Brand interview
The BBC and Channel 4 have pledged to investigate allegations made against comedian Russell Brand after he was accused of rape, sexual assault and psychological abuse against four women at the height of his fame.
The alleged assaults occurred between 2006 and 2013, while he was a presenter on BBC Radio 2 and Channel 4, and include an attack on a 16-year-old girl.
Channel 4 removed all programs linked to Brand from its website after the allegations surfaced.
Meanwhile, resurfaced interviews reveal Brand’s ex-wife Katy Perry described his behavior as ‘very controlling’, while pop star Dannii Minogue also called him a ‘vile predator’ in 2006.
The Metropolitan Police said it was aware of “media reports of a series of sexual assault allegations” but had not received any reports about it.

Probe to find out if TV bosses have turned a blind eye to Brand
TV bosses have launched an investigation into allegations of rape and sexual assault by British comedian Russell Brand.
The BBC and Channel 4 are investigating his alleged behavior and whether channel executives knew about it.
The mirror cited an unidentified source as saying the reviews would aim to investigate “whether eyes have been turned a blind eye” to any allegations.
Brand has denied any wrongdoing.
The source was quoted as saying: “The reviews will look at what concerns were raised at that time and, importantly, whether they were implemented. There is a sense of panic in some quarters about what the investigation might reveal and whether certain aspects of Russell Brand’s behavior were being turned a blind eye.”
In a new statement, a BBC spokesperson said: “The documentary and associated reports contained serious allegations, spanning several years.
“Russell Brand worked on BBC radio programs between 2006 and 2008 and we are urgently investigating the issues raised.”
