Voices: Why I’m not surprised by Russell Brand’s allegations

“Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve already heard about MeToo’s latest ‘bombshell’ revelations, targeting none other than former ‘lothario’ and self-confessed sex addict, Russell Brand.

“You will probably have watched them too: Channel 4 Dispatches published its “special investigation” on Saturday evening containing a series of damning allegations about Brand, as part of a joint investigation with the Sunday hours. It included allegations of rape, sexual assault and abuse. Brand denies the accusations. For serious allegations to be made about a well-known comedian is huge. It’s shocking. But surprising? Not really.”
