Roxy Jacenko reveals truth behind helicopter stunt on SAS Australia – as husband Oliver Curtis lashes out at trolls who criticized her for leaving the show after just six hours
She was one of 17 celebrities forced to perform an extreme helicopter stunt on SAS Australia in Monday’s first episode.
And on Tuesday, Roxy Jacenko revealed the extraordinary truth behind the terrifying stuntman, who saw the contestants fall backwards into the icy water below.
“I was the first to fall. They obviously edited it, so Candice Warner was the first and I was the second. But it was double the height when I fell, ” she told The Kyle and Jackie O.

She explained, “ That’s when I basically fucked my ass, the impact of hitting that water. I wasn’t out of breath, it was pure impact.
“ Then we had to swim, and what you don’t see on TV is the swim was very long – probably about 10 Olympic laps in the pool to shore. ”
Roxy went on to say that she also filmed a scene explaining that she had fractured her pelvis and hip six weeks previously, but that it had never been aired.
“ There was a scene for a number of minutes where I spoke in that interrogation room, explaining that my goal was to introduce myself and do my best given my situation and that they were really, really good about it, ” she explained.

Her reveal comes after Roxy was slammed by fans for decide to quit the show after only six hours because it was “too demanding”.
The PR queen resigned after instructors forced celebs to dive into ice water as punishment.
She refused to enter the water and instead told the instructors that she wanted to leave the show.
“I can not do it. In fact, I can’t … My leg is killing me. I can’t do it, ” the 40-year-old told instructors as she handed her her armband.

Meanwhile, Roxy’s husband Oliver Curtis has taken on trolls on Instagram and said he was ‘so proud’ of his wife.
“I’m the type to let Roxy speak for herself but this time I couldn’t help myself… The Keyboard Warriors are really ashamed,” he wrote.
“ To even get back on horseback, I am proud, to persevere and not give up on commitment, I am proud, to prove to children the work ethic and not to be afraid, I am proud, to tell the doctors that she will when they said it wasn’t smart, I’m proud, to jump off a barrage helicopter back 3 times the height of someone else, I’m proud.
He continued, “ It’s high time we all got off the proverbial horse and celebrated people for who they are and what they do. ”
“It’s not how much you fall, but how quickly and how often you get up. Or in Roxy and in my case, how we both bounce off the haters. Nothing but love for an amazing woman.
