Rosie O’Donnell explained the hurt feelings that led her to never appear on Ellen Degeneres’ self-titled daytime talk show for its entire run on a recent Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen interview.
O’Donnell was responding to a question from a fan who noted that Ellen had appeared on his show, but the reverse never happened.
The telling of this story included a funny impression of the late Larry King, as DeGeneres’ comments that ruffled her the wrong way took place on this show.
“Whatever happened to Rosie O’Donnell, her show was a hit! She came out as a lesbian and disappeared! O’Donnell said as King.
“And Ellen said, and I quote, ‘I don’t know Rosie, we’re not friends,'” O’Donnell said. “And I was in bed with Kelly, and I was just like, ‘Did I just hear that? the series SMILF.
“I wish her all the good things in her life, and that she is well,” she added at the end of the interview.
Ellen’s appearance on Rosie O’Donnell The show was memorable because of how little she said about calling herself “Lebanese” as code for being a lesbian. O’Donnell’s show ended in 2002, and Ellen’s daytime show started soon after in 2003 and ran long until it ended in 2022.
O’Donnell is currently one of the main cast members of the television series american gigolo on Showtime, which premiered on September 11 and also stars John Berntal.
