It’s “all the love” to MLB star Roger Clemens, who responded in a social media post after being kicked out of the National Baseball Hall of Fame vote this week.
The Baseball Writers’ Association of America (BBWAA) voted by mail on Tuesday to have this year’s nominees entered in Cooperstown on July 24, but the slate was notably missing Clemens, Barry Bonds, Curt Schilling and Sammy Sosa – who each did not get the minimum 75% vote, CBS 4 of Boston reported.
“My family and I put HOF in the rearview mirror ten years ago. I didn’t play baseball to get into HOF,” Clemens wrote in a Twitter post on Tuesday, encouraging longtime fans. “I played to make a generational difference in my family’s life. Then focus on winning the championships while giving back to my community and my fans. It was my passion. I gave it my all, in the right way, for my family, and for the fans who have supported me.”

It was the last year for the stars to appear on the ballot, as they reached their 10-year limit on traditional voting.
“I am grateful for this support,” added Clemens. “I would like to thank these two for taking the time to look at the facts and vote for me. I hope everyone can now close this book and keep their eyes on what is really important in life. life. All my love!”
Thank you all for the great answers! Very appreciated. I don’t know if I did the thread right 🤦♂️ so here’s a screenshot pic.twitter.com/oSGIniv1Bm

Longtime Red Sox player David Ortiz, who was also on the Hall of Fame ballot and received enough votes to be inducted, said he was in disbelief Clemens and Bonds would not join him .
“Barry Bonds, I don’t think there will ever be another human being able to do what he did when he performed,” Ortiz told reporters, as reported by CBS 4. “Same with the Rocket…. I don’t even compare myself to them.
“Not having them with me is hard for me to believe, to be honest with you,” added Ortiz.
