ROCHESTER, NY – A Rochester native and NBA basketball player was back in the area Saturday for a youth basketball camp. Isaiah Stewart is a center for the Detroit Pistons, who went to McQuaid High School.
Dozens of local children came to the Thomas Payne Recreation Center for professional tutoring, and parents were thrilled to have a positive role model like Stewart to teach their children.
“My main reason for doing this is not just to give back to the kids. I grew up in the same environment, similar homes they grew up in. I just wanted to give back and show them that they can achieve their dreams, as well as whatever goals they have in mind,” Isaiah Stewart, center, Detroit told the Pistons.
