Is there a better striker on the planet right now than Robert Lewandowski?
It was a rhetorical question, because the answer is no, there isn’t.
The Polish striker reached new levels of brilliance on Saturday afternoon, breaking his own Bundesliga scoring record in Bayern Munich’s latest monster 5-0 win over Frankfurt.
And how was it? With a perfect hat-trick, of course.
Last season Lewandowski made history as the first player to score ten goals in the first six games of the Bundesliga season.
Well, his header, left-footed and right-footed goals against Frankfurt took his tally to ten goals in just five – breaking his own record.
Just another Saturday for this man, who keeps scoring.
It was the perfect revenge for the German champions, who suffered a shock 5-1 defeat in Frankfurt last season.
After Lewandowski got it right, former Man City winger Leroy Sane went on to score an astonishing goal for Bayern’s fourth.
A perfect day was rounded off by Jamal Musiala, the 17-year-old former Chelsea academy starlet, who scored her second senior goal for Bayern.
Musiala was born in Stuttgart but moved to England at a young age, where he joined Chelsea academy.
He left the Blues last summer, at just 16, to return to Germany with Bayern, where he quickly rose through the ranks to the senior squad.
The teenager, who scored his first senior goal for the German giants in their first 8-0 win over Schalke, has caps for the England and Germany youth sides and Three Lions fans will certainly keep a eye on its progress in Bavaria.
