Robert Irwin shares moving message on milestone day for his family – sparking huge outpouring of love from fans
Robert Irwin shared a heartwarming message on Friday to commemorate the 31st wedding anniversary of his mother Terri and his late father Steve Irwin.
Posting the heartbreaking tribute on Instagram, the 19-year-old wildlife warrior said their marriage “ignited” a “larger than life” legacy that he was “proud of”.
Next to the beautiful caption was a photo of her famous mother and father at the start of their relationship with Steve wearing his signature khaki while Terri held a lizard.

“It was on this day, 31 years ago, that my parents became engaged and set in motion what would become a larger than life legacy,” Robert wrote.
“I love my mom and dad so much…I’m proud to be their son.”

Steve, known as The Crocodile Hunter, died on September 4, 2006, aged 44, after being stabbed in the chest by a stingray while filming a wildlife documentary called Ocean’s Deadliest in queensland.
He is survived by his wife Terri, his daughter Bindi and his son Robert.

Terri has never dated or remarried since her husband’s death, despite swirling rumors of romances with the likes of Russell Crowe over the years.
In the meantime, the Irwins have kept Steve’s memory alive through their conservation work at Australia Zoo.
Their most recent homage to Steve is the Crocodile Hunter Lodge, which features luxury cabins located inside the zoo premises.
