Rivers Angels have qualified for the inaugural CAF Women’s Champions League which will take place in Egypt later this year.
The Port-Harcourt-based club qualified after beating Amis du Monde FC du Togo 5-1 in the semi-finals of the WAFU B zone qualifiers on Monday in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
A brace from Maryann Ezenagu and a goal from Deborah Abiodun, Damilola Koku and Cynthia Aku earned Rivers Angels a comfortable victory.
Rivers Angels reached the semi-finals after finishing first in Group B after comfortable victories against the Hasaacas of Ghana and the Police Sports Association of the Republic of Niger.
The Nigerian Women’s League champions face Ghanaian Hasaacas in the final on Thursday August 5th.
Rivers Angels and Hasaacas have both booked the ticket to represent the region in the CAF Women’s Champions League.
