Riverdale actress Camila Mendes reveals she suffered panic attacks while working in Vancouver amid lockdown: ‘It was strange to me’
Camila Mendes says she suffered panic attacks amid lockdown isolation last year.
The Riverdale actress began filming the fifth season of the CW show in September and had to uproot from Los Angeles to Vancouver, where the cast and crew have lived ever since.
Speaking to Health for its April issue, Camila, 26, explained: “ When we started filming season 5, I started having panic attacks, which was strange to me.

“I think it was because I was in Vancouver and the borders were closed – no one could visit us. You start to miss your home and your life, and you don’t have your friends or your community with you.
The Virginia-born star insisted she was happy to work, but still had to learn personal remedies to deal with panic attacks.
“I mean I’m so grateful to be working and I would never want it to turn out the way I’m not. Taking baths helped with the panic attacks.

“ I also learned at those times to put my phone down, take a break from tech, and step into the tub with music and a book. I never did this before the pandemic, and now I love that I learned to do it on my own.
Camila added that although she has always been a social butterfly, the pandemic has taught her that she really enjoys spending time with her.
“ When it all started, I was in a place in my life to go, go, go. I never imagined that I would have time to sit down and be alone. It really made me reassess priorities.
Le has played Veronica Lodge in the drama since 2017 and told Health it was a “ dream ” to land the role straight out of college.

“Then there is the other side. When you have such a massive fan base, there are haters that go with it. But it was also a good learning experience. It forces you to accept and feel comfortable that not everyone will like you – and that’s okay. This is a very valuable lesson to learn at the start of my career.
