What do you wear when you go for a grocery shopping trip? A typical outfit might look like leggings, a t-shirt and slides, or a casual dress that you can pull on to feel half-assembled. Either way, the supermarket is a place a lot of people don’t think too much about what they’re wearing unless you’re Rihanna. She will dress and own. The singer was recently spotted shopping at Whole Foods in New York City and has stayed true to her penchant for unpredictable ensembles. Rihanna wore a Chanel outfit consisting of a little black jacket from the label’s Pre-Fall 2021 collection and a number 5 belt. (She also wore a Chanel Camellia brooch.)
In addition to her standout pieces from the French luxury house, the singer wore ripped Gucci jeans, Adidas Samba sneakers, a black bralette (from her own Savage X Fenty line) and a Vivienne Westwood choker. For the more casual part of her look, she completed her outfit with a green Yankees cap. As fans know, Rihanna loves the layered necklace look and it often serves as a centerpiece around her ensembles. However, for her run to the grocery store, there were a lot of styling pieces involved to make her racing outfit stand out. Although she tried to go incognito with sunglasses and a hat, Rihanna still shone in her luxury ensemble. If there’s one fashion takeaway here, it’s that you should ditch your sweats in favor of Chanel the next time you shop for products in aisle four. (If you don’t own a Chanel, wearing your fanciest outfit will do.)
Rihanna’s urban style is an endless source of inspiration for fashion girls, and her latest outfit reinforces her fashion prowess. If you’re not the type to wear jeans, a blazer and a bra when shopping, that’s okay. You can just borrow a styling tip from Rihanna’s look for your own excursions – maybe the baseball cap would be a good casual piece to incorporate into your own ensemble? Plus, the bralette and blazer combo could easily become a date outfit.
For anyone who wants to get their hands on RiRi’s exact Chanel jacket, you’ll have to wait. The item is currently part of its fall 2021 range and will soon be available in stores. Below, you can find similar pieces to create your own trendy grocery store look, or perhaps an outfit for a weekend trip.
