Rihanna and A$AP Rocky share their newborn with the world.
The family of four shared new photos on Tuesday of the power couple with their two sons, new addition to the Riot family Rose Mayers and 16-month-old RZA Athelston Mayers. Riot Rose, born August 1, wears a soft pink ensemble befitting her middle name, while her older brother looks fashionable in a henley, jeans and leather jacket.
Meanwhile, their parents go along with the denim theme, as Rihanna wears a denim jacket and Rocky dons straight-leg jeans paired with a white tank top and flannel jacket.
The outfits in these photos aren’t the only family theme: They also match four names starting with R: Riot, RZA, Robyn Rihanna Fenty, 35, and Rakim Athelaston Mayers, 34, Rocky’s birth name .
RZA is named after the Wu-Tang Clan member, and while the pair haven’t publicly discussed the Riot name, Rocky released a single called “Riot (Rowdy Pipe’n)” earlier this summer.
Rihanna shockingly revealed she was pregnant with the couple’s second child during her Super Bowl halftime performance in February. Six months later, they quietly welcomed Riot to the world.
Rihanna calls motherhood ‘legendary’
Earlier this year – before Rihanna’s belly started showing – the couple launched RZA and made headlines with their family photo shoot for the cover of British Vogue. In the photo, Rocky and Rihanna walked hand in hand on a beach while dad held a smiling RZA with the other hand and kissed his forehead.
In an interview with the magazine, Rihanna summed up motherhood in one word: “Legendary.”
“You really don’t remember life before; it’s the craziest thing ever,” Rihanna said. “There are pictures of my life before – but the feelings, the desires, the things you value, everything, you don’t relate to them because you don’t even mentally allow yourself to go that far… Because that’s not the case. it doesn’t matter.
“It was beautiful,” she recalled of RZA’s birth, adding that she felt “blessed” for it. The singer says she and Rocky brought their son home “cold turkey” after he was born, leaving it up to the two of them to figure out the early days of parenthood.
“Essentially, from one person, I became two. You enter the hospital as a couple and leave as a family of three. It’s crazy. And oh my god, those first few days are crazy. You do not sleep. At all. Not even if you wanted to,” she said. “Dude, you’re a zombie for the most part.”
Bringing home their firstborn was an adjustment for the couple.
“I remember in the beginning I used to roll his crib into the bathroom and take a shower and wipe the steam off just to look at him,” Rihanna admitted. “(Mornings) have always been my favorite, her little face waking up, seeing her face change, seeing her color come through, just all those changes.
