Rihanna has officially entered the short nails group chat. The singer and beauty entrepreneur confirmed she was a convert in a four-part Instagram carousel on Feb. 16. RiRi casually showed off her latest set of nails in the third photo in the series, where her fingers lightly touch a very pretty Valentine’s Day card.
In fact, there’s evidence that we’re probably looking at snippets of what the vacation was like for the mom-to-be. The first photo of the carousel shows bouquets of flowers that look like they were made from legos (yes, you read that right). In the second, one of those lego flowers sits next to a real rose on a table overlooking a panoramic view. Guys, the vibe is super romantic – this lovely shot to have to be RiRi’s Valentine’s Day visual diary recap.
But back to the nails. One thing we love is that they’re short – so practical, so simple. Although we usually say that short nails never go out of fashion, we can admit that they have enjoyed a while lately. In fall 2021, many of the models who walked the runways of several New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2022 shows sported minimal manicures on neatly filed nails. Certainly, long claws in bright and opulent hues made their return to NYFW for the Fall/Winter 2022 runways. Models by LaQuan Smith, for example, were seen sporting long “fire engine red” claws while the vibe at Markarian was all about the bling with “delicate accents and a hint of sparkle” for the models’ manicures.
