Richarlison showed his class with a heartfelt message to Tottenham team-mate Heung-min Son after the Brazil striker helped knock South Korea out of the World Cup.

The Spurs striker put his friendship aside for 90 minutes as the South American nation prevailed, claiming a 4-1 win.

Richarlison was once again one of the stars of the show as he scored another tournament contender goal.

The 25-year-old added to his brilliant brace in Brazil’s opening win against Serbia by pulling off a fantastic and fluid team move in the 29th minute.

Richarlison started by juggling the ball over his head outside the box, before finding Marquinhos, who squared for Thiago Silva, with the Chelsea defender then choosing the run for the former Everton shot-stopper.

The former Watford striker then took a throw-in before finding the back of the net with a left-footed effort.

And Son knew his side were second best at Stadium 974 as he congratulated his team-mate after the final whistle, with the pair sharing a warm embrace.

Richarlison then took to social media to message his club mate, saying: “I know how hard you fought to be here and that’s why you are a hero to your people.”

Richarlison was fiery for Brazil and his dazzling display left talkSPORT’s Dean Ashton flattering the player.

Ashton said in a commentary for talkSPORT: “I think he’s becoming a manager’s dream, right? Because he’s got this outrageous quality, but he’s also got this fantastic work rate.

“And something that these days as a lone striker, if you don’t bring that there aren’t many managers who want you, there aren’t.

“In world football, few managers want a player who doesn’t work smart off the ball.

“And he does it smartly, but he also does it with the kind of youthfulness of a young kid who gets thrown around and says, ‘Just run for me, this is your chance, keep going’.

“That’s how he looks, he just looks like he is every time he’s out there, I’m just going to run, almost randomly, just chase the ball, me cause a nuisance.

“He has the fitness levels to do it, he’s fit enough to get the job done and then be useful enough when he gets the ball in dangerous areas to still be able to produce.”

Unsurprisingly, Ashton named Richarlison as his man of the match, adding, “It’s Richarlison. It epitomizes Brazil right now for me.

“It’s that class, the bit of magic that Brazilians can bring, the bit of skill, the thing that makes you leave your seat.

“The thing that makes you put your hand on your head like you can’t believe what happened – and he can do that.

“But then I was looking at it, I was thinking, ‘You’re just grafting, you’re constantly grafting throughout the 90 minutes.

“You don’t give the centre-halves a minute’s rest, you’re constantly on the move, you’re constantly closing, you’re constantly working for your team, you also run Neymar a bit because you have to.

“I just thought it was a very good attacking performance.”

Adrian Durham then insisted that Richarlison, who is yet to score in the Premier League this season, could prove to be key for Spurs in the second half of the campaign.

He said: “If he stays fit, if he plays like he’s playing for Brazil, if he [Antonio] Conte is right, he is such a big asset to Tottenham.

“As to whether they are really going to challenge for the Champions League or whether they are really going to fight for the top of the Premier League or be certain of a place in the top four, they are going to need Richarlison bring the ‘Brazilian Richarlison’ consistently to the Premier League.
