Richarlison has further angered Liverpool fans with his social media activity after his red card challenge on Thiago.
Brazilian forward Everton was sent off for a nasty challenge against the Spaniard in the 2-2 draw at the Merseyside Derby on Saturday.
In the evening, Richarlison had apologized, apparently tried to defend himself, and then suppressed that effort.
The initial apology statement on his website read, “Anyone who knows my background knows that I have never been a violent gambler.
“What happened today was inevitable due to excessive dedication. I did not participate in this argument with the intention of hurting Thiago.
“When I saw that the accident was going to happen, I took my foot and hit it with my knee in the pass, which was inevitable due to the speed of the game.
“I already sent him a message to apologize and I’m doing it here publicly as well. I hope he was not injured and that all is well.
“I also apologize to my teammates, my club and my fans for leaving them one less at the end of the match.
“Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do to change what has happened except to think, work and move forward. Richarlison. “
Shortly after, the 23-year-old tweeted a screenshot of the challenge apparently trying to prove it wasn’t as bad as some have said.
This infuriated Liverpool fans and was quickly removed.
However, he has since responded to another tweet defending himself once again.
In response to the message that said, “You did this Richarlison many times,” he replied, “Several times? When have I done this before?
If fans are allowed to return to Anfield as the second derby of the season arrives, the Brazilian can expect a frosty reception to say the least.
