Richard Wilkins separated from his girlfriend Virginia Burmeister after two years together.
Speaking to the Australian on Friday, the 65-year-old revealed that his breakup with the 52-year-old dancer had occurred “ a while ago ” and “ everything is very friendly ”.
In January, the host of Weekend Today denied claiming that their relationship was on its “last legs” following several so-called “heated arguments” over money.

Earlier this year, The Sunday Telegraph said the former couple had “burning arguments” because they didn’t want to put money on their property in France.
A few days later, the couple ended the rumors by sharing a photo while attending the Melbourne Australian Open on January 25.
Virginia hasn’t posted a photo with Richard since.
The former couple released their relationship in October 2017, with Virginia becoming a regular on Dickie’s arm at red carpet events across Australia.

Meanwhile, Richard Wilkins released his “bizarre” coronavirus diagnosis on Sunday after being in contact with Tom Hanks’ wife Rita Wilson.
Sunday evening, Channel Nine revealed that the host of Weekend Today, who had briefly met Rita during her visit to the studios of the network, had tested positive for the virus which left more than 5,000 dead in the world.
Richard tweeted: ‘Hey … sincere thanks for all the messages … I really appreciate it. It’s actually a weird feeling to have tested positive for this thing we all talked about. I feel 100% … no symptoms! Thank you again … my love to all.

Her son Christian Wilkins addressed the diagnosis of shock on Sunday evening.
“I was not aware of my father’s positive diagnosis for coronavirus,” he said, before confirming that he would be tested himself on Monday morning.
Christian is currently competing on Channel 10’s Dancing With The Stars.
