Retired AFL player Dale Thomas announces engagement to longtime girlfriend Natasha Bongiorno

Dale Thomas will soon be a married man.

The former Collingwood and Carlton football player got down on one knee and proposed to his longtime girlfriend Natasha Bongiorno on Sunday.

The 35-year-old shared a series of photos of the touching moment on Instagram along with the announcement.

“Well…about time,” the athlete joked in her caption alongside the series of images.

The romantic proposal took place at Lake House in Daylesford, Victoria, with a picturesque rural view, the perfect backdrop for the engagement.

Natasha, a PR executive, shared a series of similar images on her own social media, captioned “YESSSSS!!” next to a ring emoji.

Dale, who was a finalist in I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! in 2010, has a daughter, Tilly, from a previous relationship.

Last year he sold his stunning four-bedroom home in the Melbourne suburb of Glen Iris for over $2.5million.

He shared the house with Natasha and put his property on the market last year with a list price of $2.5 million to $2.75 million.

But Dale managed to turn a tidy profit after selling it for more than $2.5 million, Domain reported.

He transformed the home’s outdated brick exterior into a sleek, modern facade, which features steel and wood elements, as well as a front patio.

“The beauty of where I am in my life is that I don’t really have a plan,” The Herald Sun said at the time.

‘Natasha and I are totally undecided. Some people might be intimidated by this, but I’m willing to explore.

“I’m a bit of a gypsy, I like to go with the flow and move with everything that comes into my life,” he said.

“Having played football for so long and living the regimented lifestyle, I love the freedom that retirement brings me.”
